26mm crown cap
Scope of application
This data sheet gives specifications for the 26 millimetres intermediate depth crown cap, lined with a plastic gasket and designed to seal bottles conforming typically but not exclusively to ISO 12821 CROWN FINISH 26H180 and ISO 12822 CROWN FINISH 26H126 standards for pry-off and Cetie GME 14.01 TWIST CROWN FINISH 26H180 & GME 14.02 TWIST CROWN FINISH 26H126 for twist-off. It specifies the dimensional requirements that are of direct importance to the customer/bottler and recommendations for cap application. The gasket material and profile are not specified as a number of different profiles are available depending on the end use and supplier-specific technology. The requirement placed on the gasket profile design is that it must be fit for purpose used in conjunction with glass finishes in reference.

This joint group aims to coordinate the production of documentation at the junction of glass container production and closure application. It accompanies the development of documentation for glass containers for different types of closures including, but not limited to, aluminum screw caps, crown caps, and their components (liners). This joint group also provides an opportunity for cap and liners manufacturers to open discussions on specific work items of the permanent glass groups
