This data sheet specifies the dimensions of an interchangeable crimped neck finish with additional bead for glass bottles dedicated to perfume and cosmetics.
It applies to glass containers with a nominal diameter of the neck finish around 15 or 17 mm
This neck finish is part of a range of neck finishes specifically designed to:
- Allow interchangeability of the bottle mould between crimped neck finishes and screw neck finishes (for versions with bead) ;
- Keep the components (collar, cap, ...) of existing packaging, when switching from a crimped neck finish (EN 14854 - GLASS PACKAGING - DIMENSIONS OF NECK FINISHES FOR AEROSOL AND SPRAY GLASS CONTAINERS) to a screw neck finish ;
- Refill bottles using a plastic screw ferrule instead of an aluminium one, thus avoiding possible friction.
Screw neck finishes are based on the thread defined by GPI 415 - TALL CONTINUOUS THREAD CONCEALED BEAD FINISH (SIZES 13-28) to create the plastic screw ferrule (the ferrule is thicker in plastic than in metal).
Designation of the finish:
- SNI 15: (Screw Neck International diameter 15)
- CNI 15: (Crimped Neck International diameter 15)
For the screw neck finish without an additional bead, refer to the GME40.20 - FLACONNAGE - SUSTAINABLE NECK FINISHES - SCREW NECK WITHOUT ADDITIONAL BEAD.
For the screw neck finish with additional bead, refer to the GME40.25 - FLACONNAGE - SUSTAINABLE NECK FINISHES - INTERCHANGEABLE SCREW NECK WITH ADDITIONAL BEAD.

This joint group aims to produce dedicated documentation on glass flacons for the cosmetics, perfume, and pharmacy sectors:
Cetie 'GME'* neck finishes data sheets concerning glass crimping neck finishes (FEA), screw neck finishes, neck finishes for pumps and snap-on neck finishes, etc.
All data sheets of the DT15 series, identifying tolerances and standard test methods applicable to molded glass flacons;
Data sheets concerning critical visual defects of flacons, neck finishes nomenclature, etc.
Guide of crimping recommendations.
*Initiated by the glass industry in the 1960s, the acronym 'GME' stands for 'Glass Manufacturing Experimental'. The idea was that Cetie, as an unofficial standards body, would only publish 'experimental' data sheets, before submitting these to the official standards bodies. At the same time, in the USA, the acronym 'GME' was also used. As the original meaning was lost over time, this nomenclature for Cetie's glass finishes documents has been, later on, applied to the PET finish data sheets.
