Test method on glass flacon decorative elements - Sun test
Scope of application
The aim is to assess the loss of colour of an article exposed to sunlight over time.
The principle is to expose the articles for 72 hours in a device that sends out radiation corresponding to daylight and to compare the colour with a reference area not exposed to sunlight.
This test applies to all articles (decorated, lacquered, etc.), both white and coloured glass, according to the customer's specifications.

History
First edition: 06/2022
The document was created to define a single, harmonised method for validating that the decorative flacons, when exposed to sunlight or radiation behind a window display, do not change colour or degrade. Thanks to this common method, everyone in the industry can test in the same way, and suppliers do not need to use several methods in parallel depending on the customer they sell to.
