GUIDE NO. 2 – METALLIC SCREW CAPPING FOR NON-CARBONATED LIQUIDS, FOODSTUFFS AND PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS ON BVP-TYPE GLASS FINISHES, provides recommendations and good practices for the application of aluminium screw caps (for example, those corresponding to EC4.03 – ALUMINIUM SCREW CAPS FOR STILL LIQUIDS ON BVP GLASS FINISHES) on glass containers with BVP-type finishes according to EN 15543 - GLASS PACKAGING - FINISHES FOR BOTTLES - SCREW THREAD FINISHES FOR BOTTLES FOR NON-CARBONATED LIQUIDS or equivalent standards.

This combined group coordinates the development of documentation at the interface between glass container production and closure application. Its work includes the preparation of guidance for glass containers designed for various types of closures, including aluminium screw caps, crown caps and liner components.
The joint group also serves as a platform where cap and liner manufacturers can address specific technical topics relevant to the permanent glass working groups.
Following the revision of Guide No. 2, GUIDE No. 6 - METALLIC SCREW CAPPING FOR STILL WINES ON BVS TYPE GLASS FINISHES - WITH REDRAW and GUIDE NO. 9 - METALLIC SCREW CAPPING FOR PRESSURISED WINES & OTHER BEVERAGES ON BVS TYPE GLASS FINISHES - WITH REDRAW will also be updated to ensure consistency across all Cetie metallic screw capping reference documents.
