Test method on glass flacon decorative elements - Resistance to bulk
Scope of application
The aim of this document is to assess for product homologation, with a unique test, the resistance over time of the decorative elements, lacquering of a glass flacon to exposure to bulk, specific or generic (Simuflor).
This test is the result of a harmonisation work of all the existing methods in the industry. It is up to the customer to adopt this method or to request its own protocol.
The principle involves placing the item to be tested in contact with a cotton swab soaked in bulk for 24 hours at ambient temperature, then performing a wipe test. The test is carried out over a total maximum duration of 10 days. The duration is to be defined in the product specification between customer and supplier.
This test applies to all types of lacquered (sprayed) and decorated (screen-printed, hot-stamped, or pad-printed), metallised items.

History
First edition: 12/2020
Revision I 09/2022 (Experimental) Addition of a generic bulk to test items without the need to use the actual fragrance. This product, called "Simuflor", replaces the traditional "G1", which is no longer compatible with hygiene and safety standards. Its composition, defined in the document, has been studied to be closer than G1 to modern perfumes, which often contain essential oils.
Revision II: 02/2026 – Deletion of the Experimental status, improvement of the text
